Community

As a family owned local business, Chapman Lumber is involved in giving back to the community that has given us so much support over the years. Here are a few thank you notes we received for the small part we played in helping community members help each other.

"Thank you very much for your generous support of our 2009 Mad River Scout Fun Day at Quassy Amusement Park on September 19, 2009; it was a great day at the park.
Your support will provide much needed funding to keep the programs of the Boy Scouts of America growing, especially in the Mad River District communities. Funds raised through Mad River Fun Day at Quassy Amusement Park will enable us to spread the positive message of Scouting into new areas, and allow us to help send children to camp that otherwise might not have an opportunity to attend.
Hope to see you next year.
Sincerely,"
Darryl Nicholson, District Executive, Mad River District
Connecticut Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America

"Thank you for your generous participation in this years Hunt To Feed banquet. It was a tremendous success and certainly owed to organizations such as yours that assist us in creating awareness about this much needed program, while helping the sportsmen feed the less fortunate throughout our state.
Respectfully,"

"On behalf of Cub Scout Den 8, I would like to personally thank you for your generous donation of American Flags for each of the boys in our den. We used them during a flag ceremony...the boys were so excited to be able to take home their own flat. I would also like to thank you for the larger flags you donated for future pack ceremonies. These will replace the older flags our pack has been using for quite some time now and will be on display during our pack meetings. The Cub Scout pack and boys truly appreciate your generosity. Sincerely,"

"To a community that answered the call....Last year I saw a need to help an old friend and neighbor, and with the help of his family we established the he needed a handicapped bathroom. That along with some needed repairs in the kitchen. I made a material list with a family contractor and proceeded to make phone calls. Things were a little slow in the beginning....Thank you, Chapman Lumber for making our donations go so far and for your services, it made this mission a huge success..."
